Designed in partnership with Mazda, the Ford Probe was a sporty compact automobile that Ford produced from 1988 to 1997. It was originally meant to be a successor to the Ford Mustang. The Probe had a rounded, sporty design, a low-slung profile, and an aerodynamic shape. With a cockpit-style dashboard, comfortable seats, and a roomy cabin, the interior was designed with the driver in mind. During its two generations, the Probe was available with a variety of engines, including a 2.0-liter inline-four and a 2.5-liter V6. It was also offered with both manual and automatic transmissions to accommodate a range of driving styles.

The Probe's target market was young consumers looking for a sporty, stylish, and reasonably priced vehicle. The vehicle faced competition from major car brands such as the Toyota Celica, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and Honda Prelude. As market tastes changed and demand for sporty coupes like the Probe declined in favor of larger cars like SUVs, its production ceased in 1997.

Boost the vehicle's horsepower, enhance exhaust flow, and give it a livelier exhaust tone by upgrading to a performance exhaust system, which includes headers, a high-flow catalytic converter, and a cat-back exhaust.
